Hello Everyone! Today I got a chance to go to Sriyarn district in Bangkok. As I heard a lot of food stalls over there are superb. Somehow, someone said the good ones are easier to find than the bad ones (Oh!, I wanna have a house in that area). After asking the locals on which stall is the best, they highly recommended me to try Stewed Chicken Noodle Soup. I, then, started my journey searching. Finally, I found the stall 'Den Sriyarn Stewed Chicken Noodle Soup'!!
From the look, the stall displayed a lot of whole chickens with 2 giant pots of stewed drumsticks, feet, wings (At least this stall showed the real chickens, not modeled chickens I have seen a lot of stalls using).
Look at the chicken feet and drumsticks!! They are countless!!
I guess this man is the stall owner. He was very busy all the time.
I ordered Kuay Taow Soup with chicken meat and a drumstick. Wow!, I love blood jellies!
From my opinion, what I like from this stall is the tenderness of the stewed chicken drumsticks but for the chicken meat is so-so to me. I have to say, I did not need any effort to cut the drumsticks as it was very soft yet very juicy (unlike some other stalls that you might give up to finish the whole part). The soup is sweet of herbs and chicken bones juice but not too thick. The best part is the bone joint. It was crunchy yet soft and delicious. It also made me drooling with little aroma of white pepper. I may consider this dish to be more on Chinese style than Thai style. For people who have tried other stalls and did not find anything special. Well, you will see the big different from this bowl of Delicious noodle soup to fill your craving!
Here is the map, 'Den Sri Yarn' location in Red. You can take a cab from Victory Monument. The fare should not exceed 60baht approximately. You also can board the bus no. 14 from bus stop in front of Ratchavitee Hospital.
Enjoy your meal!
